Sweets, Snow, and Sentiment {December}

{the snow called us outdoors to play many times}

{some could keep up more than others}

{friends made time for reunions. one gathering was a book club of women going about 10 years strong. the one above involved college roommates that occupied an old, shag carpet 6 bedroom house in ft. collins about 15 years ago.}

{out of state family arrived to love on each other}

{constructing architecture takes a lot of prep. by the way, sweaters and baking are not recommended.}

{several pleasant, country road walks were enjoyed}

{storytime was always a highlight}

{snow + snow suits + sleds = great fun}

{with a finally of hot chocolate, whip cream, and peppermint sticks? life is sweet!}

{celebrating the heart of the season with loved ones and community}

{giving and receiving gifts of fun, beauty, and love (can you tell i was eyeing that last one for myself??)}

{soaking up and treasuring what we have, saying good-byes while eager for the next time we may share again}

2

The night of his birthday carrying through for the next 2 days, everyone in the family endured the stomach flu...directly followed by a 2 day drive to southern Texas. After a 2 week vacation, we arrived home to find our computer completely dead after owning it for only 2 years. His 2s are off to an interesting start! Along with that dead computer, we lost his Colorado birthday celebration pictures that had been downloaded just before we left for Texas. Fortunately for us, family had put together a 2nd birthday celebration for him during our visit; so the Texas pictures will have to stand in for both events this year.

Now that we are back home, healthy, and have a new computer to download vacation shots, I can share...

...happy second birthday, precious boy!! You fill our days with so many smiles!

[These are the only 2 pictures (the theme continues) that we have of AD's Colorado birthday because, fortunately for us, they were posted on Facebook that night before bed.]

The Coming Home Collection {My Swoon List}

I love my sister. I love her heart. I love her work.

Her newest collection "Coming Home" at Jeanne Oliver Designs just opened days ago.

She mixes pretty with comfortable and a lot of history or vintage touches and finds.

If lovely, livable adornments and art could make me faint from estatics (ha!), this would be my swoon list from the collection. These are a few of Jeanne's pieces that really make me smile:

1. Elaine Knit Dress:::2. Lila Peasant Dress for girls:::3. Louise Dress:::4. Vintage Bracelet:::5. Butterfly Necklace:::6. Holiday Earrings:::7. Gracie Little Girl Messenger Bag:::8. Vintage Wool Coat:::9. Natalie Camera Bag:::10. Contentment Print:::11. Vintage Kodak Duaflex Camera:::12. Vintage Napkins:::13. Room to Breathe Photography

Oh, I love all the leather cuffs, too! They come in adult and child sizes.

Which are your favorites from her collection? If you compiled a list, what would be on yours??

***Oops, I put the little girl dress and bag on twice. Well, they are too cute; they deserve it!
