Sugar High

We made sugar cookies this morning and sat down to enjoy a few. Hanna had warm milk with hers. With her first drink, she "doesn't come up for breath" for a while. When she finally puts the mug down, she says, "Ahhh, that's going to make my breath warm."

As we near the end of our treat, I hear something fall on the floor. I ask my girl if she dropped a piece of cookie on the floor. Quickly, she says, "No!" I look around on the floor and spy a piece of cookie. She notices what I see, smiles big, and says, "Don't worry about it!"

Let's Pretend

...to be a wild cat drinking "special coffee" (a mug of warm milk with a spoon full of coffee). A favorite moment today.

The Truth is Out

First off, something has to be said for not having to make a full dinner every night. While the man's away, we're eating leftovers more than not. We are doing just fine, right, working away at the potato-leek soup, the spinach lasagna, the pumpkin-pecan muffins, and the fresh batch of granola throughout the days. Make note, there is no meat involved in these dishes, and I haven't heard any complaints that the world will come to a stop because of it. We love you, Daddy!

Tonight the girls and I drove around dropping off Pampered Chef products to a couple neighbors. As we drove home, I asked Hanna about dinner:
Me: What [leftovers] do you want tonight? Lasagna or soup?
H: Why can't I have peanut butter and jelly?
Me: You had it for lunch. You can't have it for dinner, too.
H: Why not?
Me: Because you'd turn into a peanut butter ball.
H: If you have lasagna, you'd turn into a lasagna ball.
Me: Well, that wouldn't be good.
H: Why?
Me: Then you'd be nutty, and I'd be cheezy.

I am not sure what was more surprising, that she might be tired of the leftovers now, or the truth of how our conversation ended.

(the sledding was early this week, the playtime posse was yesterday, the princess helped me decorate a package to a friend yesterday, too)

Sons of Korah

Have you heard of this group? My mother-in-law gave me a sample of their music for Christmas. I was impressed. I wonder, "Why have I not heard of them before?" If you have known about this group and haven't TOLD me, I am going to be REALLY upset.=) Sons of Korah, as I understand it, simply take Scripture from the book of Psalms and carefully puts it to music. What they do is not new, but they do it wonderfully. The promo below gives you a taste. Enjoy:

Deeeeep Thoughts by Amy Lu

How much baby food is wasted in the process?

I don't remember Hanna being so messy. Today Aurelia looked especially colorful. She doesn't eat like my first. Hanna refused little to nothing. Aurelia, in comparison, is picky and is rarely whole heartly into eating what's in front of her. I'm guessing that's why so much misses her stomach in times like theses. This morning, the attempt was carrots.

Yesterday, we got another skating trip in, just the Espinozas. Hanna tried the "trainer" bars this time and caught on pretty well. It was nice having my hands free for a change. For your viewing pleasure, a video follows of her cruising around the rink.

Finally, cousins below dance to Christmas music. I meant to share this earlier. It's humorous and sweet. Happy New year!
