Ready or Not, Snow

Greetings from Colorado!

Yesterday, we woke up to strong, cold winds and this stuff.

Hanna could have stayed outside much longer. I couldn't find my winter coat; so I had to cut the fun short. We did get in a lot of snow tracks, threw a few snowballs, and made a snowman. She was initially anxious to knock it down, but when I gave her the go-ahead, she changed her mind.

Did you have any idea? Possibly the smallest snowman in the Denver area is in our yard this weekend.=)

Finally, I got to say, I love this girl. She is sweet, fun, and a trooper with mom's goofiness. Yesterday, I asked her to sing two songs for "grandma" (aka loved ones, friends). With her "curious-threes" questions about "time" these days, I gave her a couple songs to get familiar with the days of the week and the months of the year. The best part is her style of performance, from start to finish.=) So without further ado...

Mission Accomplished

The birds have been tearing them up (referring to prior post).=)

And "Daddy" is working from home today, and he loves sugar cookies. So after breakfast we made a batch. What "Daddy" doesn't like so much is frosting. We did save SOME plain ones for him, but we had some fun decorating, too--maybe a little too much. Oh, guess who fixed her hair all by herself so she wouldn't get any of it in the cookie dough? I think there are about 6 barrettes in there.=) I will also add this. Enjoy the sentiment. Hope you are having a good week!

Mixing the Seasons

I don't get to do this often, but I made time for it today. Scrapblog is a lot of fun, and the best part, I think, is that you can print what you create! You can view in full screen (it's the best way to view them!) by clicking on the word "Scrapblog" in the bottom right corner. Then click on "view full screen" on the following page.

Last Days of October

Happy Birthday to David/Daddy! Carrot cake and sugar cookies and he is experiencing a little bit of heaven. We drove to downtown Denver to join a surprise party at work (with more DELICIOUS carrot cake AND sugar cookies). He was surprised.

After a morning at church, I took pictures of the girls in their sweet dresses my sister designs. With the weather getting chillier, I wanted some shots before I pack them away. (I wish the first shot was clearer.)

Where's Hanna?

We played hard on a warm afternoon and chilly evening in the fallen leaves of our cottonwood trees.

How high can they go?

Don't get me!!!=) (as we tossed leaves at eachother)

Fresh and clean.

Halloween started with meeting friends at the library for storytime and "trick or treating." Hanna was very reserved with the "scary" songs and games. That is Hanna.=) When we left, all she said was, "The ladies looked like bats" (notice the "bat" with horns=)). That morning, she was simply a ballerina, and Aurelia was a Longhorns' fan. Then we and friends with packed lunches and played at the park for part of the warm afternoon.

My drooling Longhorns "fan."

In the evening we went to a harvest festival at the church for games, bouncing tents, candy, food. I am glad I took some pictures before we left. Aurelia was not happy in Tigger for long. Hanna was a flower fairy.

Hanna's first carriage ride sqeezed between (for her safety she was moved) two strangers. Oh, so serious.

I think she felt special in her costume. However, she was very reserved again about playing games in the mist of all the loud activity. I thought this year she would warm up much faster. Oh, well. Maybe next year. Hope you're enjoying fall!
